The collection consists of a taped oral interview with Major General Gilbert Xavier Cheves by Robert Scott Davis, Jr., November 8, 1984. The interviews include anectdotes and brief personal rememberances of Sylvanious Morris, dean of the University of Georgia Law School, and of such World War II personalities as Adna R. Chaffee, Ibn Saud, George S. Patton, Claire L. Chennault, Joseph W. Stilwell, Chaing Kai-shek, Dwight David Eisenhower, Grant Taylor, and others. A particularly interesting account of the Patton slapping incident is included.
